Rehabilitation

Pendleside Hospice's rehabilitation service supports people living with advancing long term and life limiting illness, to maintain their independence and quality of life.

Rehabilitation can help to maximise mobility, promote independence with functional activities, promote energy conservation strategies, manage anxiety and promote relaxation. Pendleside also has supervised gym facilities and exercise classes available.

The rehabilitation team consists of a specialist physiotherapist, occupational therapist and psychotherapist, supported by a rehabilitation assistant and other members of the Hospice team.

Self-referrals can be made, as well as those from relatives, carers, and healthcare professionals. Once a referral has been received, a member of the team will contact the patient and/or carer to discuss and arrange the next steps. We will then work towards achieving the goals set, through the development of a supportive program of rehabilitation.

If you wish to find out more, please call the team on 01282 440 127.
