About the event

Join us for the 17th annual Pendle Pub Walk, kindly sponsored by Alderson and Horan Funeral Services, and take in the stunning Pendle countryside while supporting Pendleside Hospice.

Walkers of all levels are welcome to take part in this 13-mile circular route, combining countryside paths and road walking, with official venues along the way for refreshments, rest stops, and live entertainment.

Event Details

The event will take place on Saturday, 13th June 2026, starting from either The Thatch & Thistle, Nelson, or Pendle Inn, Barley. On-the-day registration will be open from 10am – 12 noon, with the event concluding at 8pm.

Registration & Fees

Adult registration is £27 and registration for children costs £15. On-the-day registration is £62, as this covers the cost of your sponsorship, as well as the sponsorship you could have raised up to now.

Fundraising

Every walker is encouraged to raise £35 to help Pendleside Hospice continue providing vital care to patients and their families across Burnley and Pendle. The easiest way to fundraise is by setting up a JustGiving page. Alternatively, you can use our downloadable sponsorship form to collect cash donations.

Our Supporters

This event wouldn’t be possible without the fantastic support of our local pubs, the Rotary Club of Burnley Pendleside – a group of volunteers making a difference locally and globally – and our sponsor, Alderson and Horan Funeral Services.

Route & Map

The route is well signposted, and a team of volunteer marshals will be on hand to guide you. Along the way, there are 17 pubs and pop-up bars, providing plenty of rest stops and a range of food and beverages. You can download our illustrative map here, which highlights all the pubs involved, and for those wishing to follow a GPX map, this can be downloaded here (only compatible with certain apps / devices).

Toilets

You can view on the illustrative map where all of the toilets are located. As well as toilets being at every pub and pop-up bar, you will also find toilets situated at St. Anne’s Church in Fence, Newchurch, at The Cabin in Barley, at the Bus Terminal in Barley, in Roughlee before Pendleside’s pop-up bar, as well as on the car park next to the White Bear in Barrowford.

We can’t wait for you to join us for the Pendle Pub Walk 2026!

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does my registration fee go? +
This goes towards the running costs of the event, including advertising, portaloos and insurances. It also covers the cost of your t-shirt and £6 goes to The Rotary Club of Burnley Pendleside. This is why raising sponsorship is so vital to Pendleside Hospice, to ensure that we can maximise as much fundraising as possible to continue the care and support we provide for patients and their families in Burnley and Pendle.
Can I start the walk from any point along the route? +
Yes, you can! You only need to start at The Thatch & Thistle or Pendle Inn if you need to pay on the day and / or pick up your t-shirt.
Can I swap my t-shirt for a different size? +
Unfortunately not. To reduce waste, we only order what's required based on registrations. We therefore advise that you size up.
Are dogs allowed on the walk? +
Yes! We welcome dogs, and even have some Pendleside-branded doggy bandanas for your four-legged friends to wear. These can be bought on the day of the event, as well as at t-shirt collections dates. Please ensure that dogs are kept on their leads at all times and you clean up after them, thank you.
How much should I aim to raise? +
We encourage you to raise a minimum of £35. While it's a fun event for all, 13 miles is quite the challenge! Share your sponsorship page or sheet with friends and family and see what you can raise for Pendleside Hospice!
How do I set up a JustGiving page? +
Follow the link in the 'Resources' section above. Click on the orange button, which says 'Start Fundraising', and fill in all your details. It takes only 5 minutes to set up.
How long is the walk, and is it difficult? +
The walk is roughly 13 miles and is a mix of road and terrain. It's by no means an easy feat!
Is the route safe for pushchairs or wheelchairs? +
Unfortunately, the route is not fully accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
What should I bring with me on the walk? +
Good walking boots and socks, plenty of water, a rain coat as well as sunglasses (as you never know!), cash / bank card, plus poo dogs, should you be bringing a dog!
What should I do in case of an emergency during the walk? +
Always ring 999 in case of a medical emergency. Should you need first-aid, go to your nearest check-point en route, where there'll be someone on hand to assist.
Can I bring my own food or drink? +
We encourage you to make the most of the event and support your local hospice, as well as the fantastic pubs and bars in our area. If you do bring your own food and snacks, please do not consume these on premises.
Who can I contact if I have more questions about the event? +
Reach out to Pendleside Hospice's Fundraising Team on fundraising@pendleside.org.uk or by calling 01282 440 120.
